Process Art

Process Art

Emmy’s school was closed today, so we opted for process art during quiet time. Process art for preschoolers focuses on the creative process rather than the outcome.

I presented all of our Christmas themed materials and the girls were given the freedom to create. I also placed some picture/word cards on the easel because Emmy is interested in writing.

Aside from providing freedom, process art gives kiddos opportunities to build fine motor skills. That’s a huge benfit for Ellis as she struggles to push down stamps, squeeze loop scissors, and still hasn’t decided which hand is her dominant hand.

Even if the mess drives you nuts- I encourage you to bust out ALL the crafting materials. They are focused and so proud of their work.
